2024 Year in Review

We built six Quantum Computers!

This year we have accelerated the development of our quantum computing systems—both digital and analog—to meet the evolving needs of our clients while enlarging our quantum data center.

These efforts aimed to provide four quantum computing platforms for our upcoming Quantum-as-a-Service in our new labs. Stay tuned for 2025!

Another key milestone in this journey has been the successful installation of two of our quantum computers at the iconic “capella” within the Barcelona Supercomputing Center as part of the Quantum Spain project, a testament to our commitment to innovation and excellence.

Made significant progress on ongoing European and National projects while embracing new opportunities.

We successfully completed several of our flagship projects that laid the foundation for Qilimanjaro, including the FET-Open AVaQus and CDTI Misiones CUCO. We made continued progress in European initiatives aimed at establishing a robust superconducting chip fabrication pipeline in Europe, such as the Qu-Pilot project. Our work on the EIC Transition – RoCCQet project has been ongoing, and we’ve also secured 4+ new projects to drive our mission forward.

Expanded Commercial Opportunities

This year, we expanded our business pipeline and strengthened existing accounts across both our Algorithm Co-Design and Quantum Deployment services, offering comprehensive access to quantum expertise in software and hardware. We secured several key client accounts that position us for continued growth and success in the years ahead, while also actively exploring new partnerships to further enhance our positioning and reach.

Empowered Our Team

None of these achievements would have been possible without our team.

A key milestone this year has been the consolidation of an exceptional group of 55 quantum experts, all driven by a shared passion for advancing quantum computing and refining our unique analog quantum architecture.

This growth reflects our commitment to building a stronger foundation for excellence and innovation, enabling us to achieve greater goals in the upcoming years and based on our deeply rooted values.

Expanded International Presence

Advanced Science and Innovation

We bolstered our academic contributions and intellectual property portfolio.

  • Released 10+ research papers.
  • Presented over 12 invited talks at international scientific conferences
  • Advanced patent filings across EU, US, and Canada.
  • Mentored 5+ theses exploring superconducting circuits and applications of analog quantum computing.

Moved to a New Home

All teams and infrastructure successfully transitioned to our new offices at C/Veneçuela 74 in Poblenou, a new home that brings us together and sets the stage for the development of our unique quantum data center.

This milestone marks an important step for Qilimanjaro to foster closer collaboration across teams, accelerating our co-design approaches between hardware and software while creating a dynamic environment for innovation. Our new home not only embodies our vision, but welcomes partners, collaborations and any visitors willing to experience firsthand the advancements we are achieving together.

“As we close the year, our journey up our Qilimanjaro mountain of quantum computing enters an exciting new phase. Like any climb, building quantum computers is no easy feat—each step comes with its own challenges and complexities. But we are stronger and more ready than ever, equipped with the right team by our side. With every milestone, the peak comes into clearer view, bringing us closer to unlocking the true potential of quantum computing for real-world impact. Here’s to reaching even greater heights in 2025—stay tuned as we continue our ascent toward new frontiers in analog quantum computing!”
